2008 a good year for movies

Sat Nov 22, 2008, 3:10 PM
  • Mood: Content
  • Listening to: black kids "party traumatic"
  • Reading: solanin, invincible 55, naruto, bakuman
  • Watching: kung fu panda, batman brave and the bold
  • Playing: xbox live (sucks that it costs so much)
  • Eating: hopefully healthier one day soon
  • Drinking: mountain dew amd water
Seriously there's at least 10 solid movies that i saw and had to own this year.

1. Dark Knight - lol and i'm not the biggest batman fan but seriously, it was awesome. and up there for best superhero movie with the incredibles and spiderman 2.

2. Speed Racer- made of color, explosions, and badassery. plus speed's love, desire, disillusionment, and then love again to make it in pro racing mirrors my comics one.

3. Hell Boy 2- an awesomely fun comic movie. don;t know why people hated on this one.

4. PineApple Express- funniest movie ever

5. Tropic Thunder- funniest movie evar

6. The Incredible Hulk- he said hulk smash. i needed nothing else, but it didn't hurt to have ed norton, liv tyler, will hurt and tim roth bringing some life to the characters. (lol it smashes ang lee's version)

7. Forgetting Sarah Marshall- a great comedey with alot of heart, (most generic response ever, lol, i'm tired).

8. Kung Fu Panda- makes me wanna draw everytime i watch it. one of the only 3D films that feel like a classic 2d one. they weren't caught up in simulating reality but creatin an awesome digital world.

9. Iron Man- yeah i know kinda low on the list but seriously, take out Robert Downey Jr. and the movie becomes way less awesome. still good but not great. (but kudos to favereau and mr downey for making tony interesting)

10. Wall-E - visual storytelling at it's best. anything/one that can make me care about a squeeky box with binoculars for eyes is amazing.

and that's leaving out other awesome films like Hancock, Zack and Miri, and the Strangers (man if it wasn't for the last bits of this movie, it would be a horror classic.

oh I have BIG ANNOUNCEMENT in the next day or 2 so stay tuned :D

Yeah, Dark Knight, I'm not a big Bat honk either, but that was pure classic...

Sarah Marshall was, as you say hilarious and heartfelt...

Kung Fu Panda, wow, yes, great animation, epic, but the film felt like it was missing something, like all the elements for an instant classic, but one key ingredient was missing...

Iron Man was just great, the ending could've been bigger and better, but Downey owned, and absolutely carried an otherwise great film... Much better than Hulk (which had kind of the opposite problem, great opening and ending, low budget and lame middle)

I still need ta see your 3 4 and 5 :)

The Strangers?!?
That mostly frustrated me, it wasn't near as good as I'd thought it would be (from all it's buzz)... it opened strong and then lost all tension for me... It's a remake of THEM, which is much better, and is probably why I enjoyed Strangers less, have you seen it? Allthough, I like the reimagined premise of Strangers better...
I suspect, whichever you see first, you'll enjoy more though.
