By the wayy... you seem to know a lot about the comic buisness... or, at least that's the vibe I get... do you think you could look through my gallery? I'm really interested in going into the field of comics/animation someday, and I just wanted your opinion on whether I have a shot. ^^;

well first off before even looking, you have a shot. everybody does if they're willing to work hard at becoming a better and artist and not giving up. seems like tenacity and networking play just as huge of a part in getting work as drawing better does.

and I took a glance at your gallery and now i know you have a chance :D. my suggestion would be to draw more comics. and ones with more background and perspective. i know backgrounds can be boring and hard to draw sometimes but if you're characters aren't grounded in the world they're from it hurts the connection we make with the characters. pick up some books on it or possibly take a class. I'm teaching an illustration online through the savannah college of art and design's continuing education dept. that's open to anyone. you don't have to be accepted to the college to try these out. It's only 4 weeks. here's the link [link] my next one is in the summer so it probably won't be on the site set. but check it out when you get the chance, cause they're variety of other classes you might be interested in. (also no trying to sell you the class, just was thinking of a way we could go in more detail about character creation, perspective, and composition).

also i love how animated your art is. you have great character expressions so keep getting better at that :).

lastly i'd suggest stepping out of your biggest influences zone for a minute. looking at your style i see alot of anime/manga influence. which is great. but to be well rounded and to create a style that's inspired by those but not so similar. i'd say pull in elements from other comics, like superhero ones, indy ones, etc. also from the rest of art as well. the best comic artists/animators are well inspired by a variety of influences. it makes you stand out from everyone else.

hope that helped a bit.

That really helps, yeah! Thanks so much! ^^

I'm totally taking that class if I can fit it in... I'm still in highschool, so if it's during the day I might have to miss a few times... I'll look into it. :P
